The Oscars... did you notice that when the winners included men and women, the men seemed to dominate the microphone, or at least grab it first. This happened with the cute couple who won for their Once song, and then Jon Stewart actually had the woman come back out so she could finish.
And I have to say I was a bit upset with Katherine Heigl who seemed to get very flustered -- so flustered she admitted she was flustered -- which makes everyone watching nervous, too. I mean, it's basically your job to act and be "on" at times like this, so I think you should learn how to control your nerves. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, I love her, but it just seemed really weak to me.
On an unrelated cooking note: How great are the photos on this website, The Pioneer Woman Cooks! I love it.

I agree, I wish Katherine Heigl hadn't said anything. It seemed a little attention whorish, she's an actress -- award winning actress -- but we are supposed to feel sympathetic when she has to read of a teleprompter?
I love Pioneer Woman Cooks. The recipes are so yummy.
I found the site through yours, so thank you!
I totally agree about the men- I felt so bad when the woman from Once tried to talk and she was cut off! That was the coolest thing when they brought her back on- and her speech was literally the best part of the evening! I loved her!
I kind of felt the Oscars were less inspiring than usual for me. There were none of those momentous speeches that just make you realize how far someone came.
Plus- no crazy dresses! That's fun too. Everything was more typical- beautiful- but more ordinary.
I love that John Stewart brought that woman back on...very classy. And it's always a bit weird to me to see actors who don't handle public appearances well. You'd think they'd prepare, right? But I guess maybe you get used to having multiple takes.
